    Transom sealing alignment?

In earlier posts many were concerned about the transom plates not fitting the alignment tabs and when resealing were pushing the plate up to touch the tabs. Is this still current procedure, or has time shown it not to be an issue or actually be problematic to do it? I do not want to loose speed after resealing my transom.

You'll be fine where it is, just seal it up and be done. I would suggest though if you're going to leave it where it is make sure all the mating surfaces are as smooth and true as possible.
