Help on reducing cavitation when pulling a water skier.

    Hi Everyone,

Would anyone have any experience or advice for reducing cavitation when towing a slalom water skier on a deep water start? I have a 2011 stock FX SHO which on the whole is a great ski, but just looking to see if I can improve the hole shot to get a slalom skier on top of the water without them having to complete a record breath hold first. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers

    Greg

Start with the basics, seal your transom, pump shoe, and if it still cavitates then I would suggest a different prop, but you'll need to bend it to get the rpm where they need to be.When all of these fail it's time to go with a larger pump.

Get an aftermarket Skat Swirl prop installed. And tell the skier to hold on

Here is the difference between a worn stock prop and a Skat on the same model skis:

Thanks for the information guys. Although I recon a twin prop setup would be awesome, somehow I think I have a fair way to go before I can even contemplate running that setup! I'll definitely get the pump seal kit and am considering the Skat Swirl prop as well. Which pitch would you recommend for the above application? Thanks for your help.

    Cheers

Depending on the size of the skier and the ski you may have a hell of a time pulling them up no matter what your setup is (Unless you go wild)

Hmmm- my 2011 vxs can yank me out of the water with a double hi wrap ski and my 210 pound ass easier than a 135/150hp outboard ski boat?
