2005 RXP with 115 hrs Hi Temp warning after 20-30 seconds of start HELP !!

Hey guys I have a 2005 RXP with 115hrs. Ski is bone stock. Just started it today 11-6-12 and after about 20-30 seconds it started steaming really bad from the header and j pipe and the hi temp warning came on the tach. I immediately shut down the ski and steam was just pouring off the header and beginning of j pipe that connects to header. I will not restart it until I have an idea of whats goin on to not do any more harm. Everything such as hoses are connected and clamps are tight and secure ( no kinks ). Any ideas guys ?

Sounds like a lack of cooling water to the headers...

Just be careful when testing with hose on, you don't want to get water into the exhaust valves.

I'd start out by checking to make sure the water pick up is connected to the jet pump and follow the water hose routing from there...

Are you sure the exhaust manifold was getting hot?
If the manifold was getting hot then you have issue with water flowing.

You might take the j pipe off and see if the holes in the end of the j pipe that spray in the water box are not cloged up.

You were running it in the water or on the trailer out of the water?
