    When is it too cold?

My buddy and I are discussing cold water riding and the possible negatives in doing so. The air temp is 50 - 52' and the water temp is in the 40's. Is there any danger in running my GPRSHO in these temps?

I rode four weeks ago in northern Michigan air temp 32 degrees with no problems. I think when you start to hit ice it is probably too cold, Julio...

I am riding here in Milwaukee yet. I would just allow time for the engine to reach operating temperature before you start hammering on it, especially if you are running a 2 stroke.

NO good to go. stop riding when you have ice on the lake

I don't worry about the engine--just let her warm up is all I do.

However, I worry about any problems I may encounter. I am the only one on the lake (obviously) so there is no one that can help (not even any boats left in). If the ski sinks, I worry about how long I can last in the water. Water temps in the 40's make things not work right and quickly. I rode my standup two weeks ago and although it was hard, I tried to stay closer to the shore rather than farther.

    When is it too cold?

I ride all year. Water temps here are normally in the 40's during the winter months. No issues so far

I know. We are running out of the 70+ degree days for the fair weather riders (like Scott). Water in the channel was 59 Saturday.

It is getting too cold when you don't need ice for the beer. My wetsuit works fine and I usually ride all year.
