    How NOT to race a 300x

    Stock 300x vs

    Modded FZR (R3 ECU, Wheel, Intercooler, Prop etc, lots of $$$)

    How NOT to race a 300x in real water...

    Social Rec Riding on Saturday
    300x - Refuelled and ready for Sunday
    FZR - Refuelled, replaced clutch and ready for Sunday

    Winner = 300x!

    Social Rec Riding on Sunday
    300x - Pack it up, store it and ready for next time
    FZR - Pack it up and drop it off to the dealer for another clutch replacement

    Winner = 300x!

    FZR = Two clutches in two days... oh no.

    Enjoy the video

    Cheers, Mal

    AHH LOL!! So that is what it looks like from the 300x owners view when my 14mph faster Fz cant pass him on rough water. Still on my stock 09 clutch at 156 hours though. I know when to give up the race.

    OK Im all about the fact that Yamahas clutches can fail but 2 in 3 hours? Somone is doing something wrong or has really bad luck! I have ridden the piss out of my ski and no failure yet let alone 2 in two days....

    Must not have replaced the old clutches with the 2013. Haven`t heard of any problems with them.

    Yes, they are faster, and more reliable, on smooth water, but I wouldn't trade my 74mph 300x for an 80+mph FZR that's made of glass.

    Anyway guys, this was all in good fun. We all had a bit of a laugh (Kawi guys the hardest laugh). I think he is going the latest clutches, so hopefully it won't happen to him so often. That, and learning not to race us if the water has more than a ripple on it haaaaaaaa

    Pretty cool ride you guys organized !!!!

    I didn’t realize this Mal - but you guys drive on the "wrong side" of the road - as can be seen in the start of your video

    Eating Pizza in the street and drinking Corona, what a combination....

    I believe it is safe to assume that the water temp is still rather cold, and has not yet warmed-up to your liking – based on your reaction at 1:34

    Good Job Mate – you and Jimmy gotta drag Corey with you some day cause I think he has flat forgotten how to have fun on an Ultra-300x.
