'08 GTI SE 155 - Ball Valve and Strainer
I recently bought an 08 GTI SE155 with 40 hrs on it. first hour on it was great. no issues other than the ocean was miserable..
4 questions please...
it idles at 1700 - 1800 (ish) which is ~5 mph. is this correct? seems a little high although perfect for manuevering thru the 5mph limit inlet..
i screwed in the male end of a garden hose quick-connect into the exhaust flush pipe. it narrows the inlet significantly. should i remove it??
i am also inclined to put in an ball valve and possibly a strainer into the exhaust cooling hose (where the red stripe is (not the beer )). where in the hull is the actual intake? i don't believe it is the flush pipe as it seems to be out of the water under power.
would the addition of a strainer pose any restriction that would prevent it from being used??
Thanks for your help
