2012 Purple Heart Patriots Challenge Oceanside Ca. Stop with USCG Auxiliary

November 9, 2012

Phoenix Patriot Foundation & K38 Water Safety Presents

2012 Purple Heart Patriots' Challenge

When: November 11th, 2012

Where: Oceanside Harbor Department-USCG Auxiliary office
Distance: 135 miles
Where: San Pedro, California to the Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado
These Patriots will cover 135 miles through cold, rough Pacific Ocean conditions. Four greeting stations will be available for the public to show their support of these warriors as they operationally integrate post-combat injuries. ‘Our hope is to provide a vehicle and means by which they can realize that their capabilities are not limited’, states Foundation founder and CEO Jared Ogden.

This is the second annual Purple Heart Patriots' Challenge and is PPF's first-phase program utilizing Kawasaki JET SKI® watercraft to assist in rehabilitation, create a competitive mindset, and return to being comfortable in a new body transformed through combat injuries. Various military brethren will be riding alongside these Patriots—heroes united.

The Purple Heart Patriots Challenge Oceanside Harbor stop will be enjoying fellowship from members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 01-06 at their office on the East side of the parking lot.

There will be barricades in place where we will be parking our trucks/trailers with Kawasaki Ultra LX Jetskis from 1100 - 1300 hours approximately. We hope to be at Oceanside Harbor, weather depending, around noon, just in time to enjoy our stop.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary based out of Oceanside will be hosting a BBQ for our Purple Heart Recipients lunch stop. Please stop by and say hello!
The Auxiliary is happy to help any boaters with water safety info, boater education or vessel safety examinations, so don't hesitate to ask them or the Harbor Patrol Officers if you need anything while visiting Oceanside Harbor. Boat Smart From the Start!

We thank our USCG Auxiliary personnel who volunteer countless hours on behalf of boater safety, they are a part of our maritime heritage and we are honored that they are hosting our stop for these warriors.
