Need to winterize but no starter!

I have a 1999 Kawasaki ultra 150 with a bad starter that needs to be winterized and I don't have the money to get a starter until spring. Is there anyways to winterize without starting the ski? Need help and time is my enemy. Thanks

    Welcome aboard, DUltra150!

Spray some fogging oil in the spark plug holes and in the carb throats, then spin the engine over by hand. You can remove the drive coupling cover and turn it.

Put StaBil in the fuel and top off the tank. It really needs to be run to get StaBil in the carbs, but you can't do that. I run (and recommend) StaBil all the time, every time I fill up.

Put a trickle charger on the battery. Plug it into a timer and let it charge about 15 minutes per day.

What about removing any water in the engine and so forth so it won't freeze and bust?

I am not sure how the Ultra motor is configured, what you need to look for are places that water could sit in the engine, such as cylinder, exhaust pipe & muffler, if you can't run it, you can remove some of the cooling hoses & pour in a small amount of RV antifreeze in each to avoid freezing damage.

Curious why RV Antifreeze - and why not the typical "sauce" from the local Auto Store?

Because rv antifreeze is safe for the environment since it will be spilling all over your driveway/yard not to mention its actually cheaper its not for the rv engine its for any water systems with potable water

The waterbox is probably the only place any significant amount of water will collect. There may be a small amount in the engine, but it's not in a confined space that could cause cracking.

You can buy a gallon of RV antifreeze for $4, that will last you about 3 seasons, cheap insurance, I also dont' believe those "self draining" claims, I have taken a motor like that apart & there is always some water in it.
