Found a couple metal shavings in my oil screen...

So I pulled the oil pump from RXT 215 and didn't see anything in the front oil screen. Today I was about to re-install my PTO cover when I took a second look at the rear screen. I noticed two tiny specs of something along the plastic edges of the screen. I was able to pull out two tiny metal shavings. So, I took a second look at the front oil screen and ran my finger around the edges. Again, I found 1 tiny metal shaving. Is this possible with a motor that's in good shape? Or do I definitely have a major problem on my hands? Where do I go from here?

It would depend if those little metal shavings warrant a tear down and if you want to spend the money on rebuilding it. Doesn't this motor have quite a few hours on it? How do the pump rotor and shaft and housing look?

    I'm checking the rotors tonight...

One sliver was not, and then there was a tiny spec that was.

If something is wrong with the motor I'd definitely want it fixed. The rear oil pump rotor and shaft look okay, but since I've never seen one in a ski with a bad motor, I don't really have anything to compare it with.

Anyone have any photos of what an oil filter or screen from a busted motor would look like? I almost didn't see the couple metal specks I found. They were tiny and right up against the screen edges.
