Places to ride around San Diego and LA?

I am wanting to move to either LA or San Diego and was wondering which area is better for an avid rider? Are there any good lakes to ride around there? Where do you launch in to the ocean? Any advise would be great.

In san diego mission bay Is where I saw most of the action when I was at sea world. I would like to do a Catalina trip some day from LA. But I don't see it happening any time soon.

Don't be bitter because you left!

Mission Bay is easiest to access for PWC riders. But you can also ride in San Diego Bay, Point Loma if you want to jump waves, there are a few lakes that allow you to ride, but mostly smaller lakes... A lot of people will also drive out to the Colorado River or Lake Havasu to ride.

There's a million ocean spots to ride in ether location. Lake wise there a few more options in la. Also depends where u move to in both la or sd.

Agree with FIRE. There are so many... Going Saturday from Marina Del Rey.
Mission Bay is fine in SD area but its like a lake and l o n g ways to open ocean.
If your sig is any indication Mission Bay or San Diego Bay good for you. (GPR?)
Dana Point is one of the best places to ride out of. Shelter Island launch in San Diego is good.
Let us know when you get here and where you are at, also what ski you have, conditions/water preferred.
San Diego is not far from Yuma, which is Co. River. Great riding but if new go slow til you know water. (sandbars)
    Laughlin to Havasu great also.
If you have a 2 stroke, unless it is a DI they are no longer allowed on Lake Mohave or Mead after New Years.
