does anyone store their skis outside and know how to keep them dry?

im sure SOMEONE some where keeps their skis outside.

i do, and i had a factory cover. every time it rains the footwells would fill up so id have to tilt it back, let it drain, then get a towel and get the rest out becasue the ski wont go back far enough on the trailer to drain fully by tilting it.

tried spraying it with waterproofer, still nothing.

so i bought a jet tribe cover. seems way more thick, way more water resistant. rained today, still water in the foot wells

if i put a tarp over it it will mold inside wont it?

anything work short of building a shed for it? if a tarp would work id take a factory cover and put microfiber on the inside and tarp material over the outside. like that guy did that turned his factory cover inside out and cut microfiber pieces and glued them to the underside of the cover.

there has to be some way to cover a ski so i dont have to dry out the footwells after every time it rains.

    anyone have any ideas?

I've been wondering the same thing for twenty years. Only answer I really found was to elevate the front of my trailer with block so that the footwells are sloped backward and hold no water.

I slope backwards for the winter. Use my cover an then tarp over the cover kind of like a rain fly on a tent. I also put a damp rid inside the hull for the winter.

    Wont you get mold?

If I tilt mine back till it hits the nozzle there's still water in the footwells

I don't but I realize your gpr has like the craziest bend where you almost have to have it upright to get the water out. My skis not like that so it's a little different. My thought was since I don't tarp it right up against my cover it gets air in between and the tarp keeps water from getting to the porous cover and dripping through

I have a bunch of 4 mil plastic sheet, I was just going to cut a piece and put it under the factory cover, then put holes through that where the vents at the back are

Make sure the cover is tight on the ski and positioned so water runs right off and doesn't have a chance to pool in the footwell areas of the cover.

No matter how tight water gets in, even with the jet tribe
