Is this all I really need? Valve train!

Guys understand I have 2 RXP's that I am modding, so I need to go the cheapest route, but also the safest for the high R's. So I really don't think I need two Riva kits if this works.

Please give me your thoughts and let me know how hard it is to install and if you are close to me if you can help!

Underwood says the aluminum retainers and shims are good for a solid 8400 RPM's and to go 8500 you need the valves lightened. I have run just the retainers and shims at 8500 though

The Riva kit with the higher rate springs is good for 8500+ all day long and can be installed without removing the head with their valvetrain tool.

Wow I always thought that the Retainers and shims was all good!
So if I come unhooked all the time in rough water this valve float can still happen with these parts?

Dude I know money is an issue but do yourself a favor and get the Riva stuff the springs are the week link at higher RPM's. I have done the exchange and it is really easy with the Riva tool. I bet there are some baord members who would let you use there Valve train tools. Just my 2 cents

i'm going 2 run the rr light weight valve spring retainers & shims but i'm running 8400 rpm on the stock class ecu my buddy used the same thing on his race ski with the rr ecu 8600 rpm i would say if ur going this route (8500 rpm) u need 2 replace the oil jet in the head also on the rr alluminum retainers u need 2 sand the inside edge of the valve spring 2 take off the sharp edge where it touches the retainer 2 keep from cutting a grove in the alluminum retainer
any body drop a valve with the riva light weight valve train i've heard some rummers there been a few but i havent seen any or heard of it on this sight

Last season I floated a valve. Total cost about 1000.00 and three weeks off.

$1000 is getting off cheap Steve. Many times you can destroy the engine.
