    Umi copy?

While searching for a complete umi setup for my ultra150.I was talking with a friend that owns a machine/fabrication shop. I was telling him what I need. He said bring him one and he could copy it. He has a cnc machine and can make damn near anything. Any interest in this? I was thinking make it with the fat bar mounts? Only problem is getting one to copy.

It looks like it would be fairly easy to CNC. Start with a piece of laminate first to test the pattern. Go from there.

Awesome keep us posted, how much of a price range do you think the copy will go for?

Ok, if the price is anywhere near a authentic umi you'll have to count me out. But let me know I'm very interested and might know someone else

Defiantly not going to lose money. And I'm sure my buddy with the cnc machine is not going to make them for fun, also pretty sure the aluminum will not be cheap or free. And even a used umi setup can sell for the cost of a new one if you can find one. Like I said not doing it to get rich, but my toys don't run on thanx either.

Hoping we can do this at a reasonable cost.we'll see?? Just ordered an original umi setup yesterday. Probably nothing complete until after Christmas. I originally was going to do this for myself and maybe a few extras, seems like the interest is peaking? I'm sure if it too costly then that will end this venture. Was also thinking of some other billet items? Like choke and fuel knobs, rear tow hook, engine switch housing, mirror block-offs,any other ideas?
