    boring out cylinders question

i have rust on my cylinder walls. the dealership said i can bore out cylinders and replace just the rings, without the pistons? is this correct? it says next piston ring size is 100.21mm, i can use my original stock pistons with the next size rings?

If you are using the same pistons you just re-hone thecylinders and rering. The minute you open that motor and ambientair hits it rust will form shortly after. If you bore Out the cylinders you have to replace pistons to that said bore size.

do you know what sizes are there? and should i go with OEM pistons, or any other brand and why? i want quality, not cheap stuff that will cause problems after.

if you have rust on your cylinders, chances are a hone will not remove all the rust. bore the cylinders, grab some CP pistons from the store and ride!

you would pay more for oem pistons than CP, and yes, cp's design is far better.
