Anybody have their Kawasaki Ultra-300x OEM Plate Modified by this guy - and care to report on results?

I believe he is close to me - also in Pinellas County, Florida (I think)?

    TIA

    Ed,

Jim is probably one of the most respected tuners on GH and in Fla...Rideplates are his specialty...just ask any go fast Yami owner...But can make a 300X plate whether its OEM ,R&D or RIVA faster on flat water?....Hmmm ,like to know myself

    Is that:

    1. The cost of doing business (as with anything in life).
    ------------------OR--------------
    2. The cost of other related "incompatibilities" (either in the short term or the long term).

    "Open-Ended" questions deserve "Open-Ended" answers.

Jims modification of the rideplate usually consist of grinding the raised bosses which raises the back of the plate especially the two at the tail creating more angle ... this definitely works for flat water speed (2-3mph) getting more hull out of the water...But at a price like Waz said...you lose the rough water hook up....

For the GPR it was a must on an R&D plate..3-4 mph easy but choppy waters way too bouncy..its not a rough water ski to begin with..

For the 300x might lose its best qualities...Maybe Jim will chime in and explain..he does alot of testing in fla...VXR guys are having great success with his modded plate...

Being that it is his thread - it would only seem like the right thing to do.

I have done many kawi plates with a gain of 1.5 mph. on average and still be able to keep the handling, Because i do not change the angle much just work with the riding surface. Thank you, Jim

Hello Sean i have done a couple in house but i do not sell that mod to many mounting spots on the plate very tricky to shim properly for everything to line up after mod.
