    Valentine 1 radar detector

Looking at buying a Valentine 1 for the car. From what I know, they are the industry standard. Anyone have one of these bad boys? Let me know what you think/ how well they work!

I had one but sold it... It annoyed the crap out of me around town so I would not plug it in than I would always forget to plug it in when I hit the freeways. It worked well though and I would not buy another brand radar detector other than it.

I think Valentines patent runs out any day now, will be a ton of clones out there soon with that beautiful technology. Let me know if I'm wrong

Thanks for the replies guys! I think I am going to pull the trigger on one online. I also came across a laser interceptor... lol but I think I will just stick with the valentine 1.

I've had a V1 for almost 10 years now. I also have several Escorts. The V1 is by far the better of them. If for nothing more than the directional arrows. I drive with the V1 everyday and it still bugs me when I get in one of the other cars and don't know where the source of the detect is coming from.

This is what i use: http://www.escortradar.com/passport9500ix-details.php

I've used a few different ones (not the V1) and this one is great.

Eliminates false alarms after driving through an area a couple of times. works really well. paid for itself quite a few times....

There's no replacement for a V1.... I've had several over the years, and once you start driving with it you won't want to drive without it.

Look into the invisicord and invisimount which hardwire the v1 into the car and the mount keeps it up high right under the rearview mirror
