    RXP Timing and ECU

    On the ECU the instruction call for retarding the timing. When installed my ECU the timing was already in the retard position. If I was to advance the timing a little more would this help in the out the hole acceleration. Has anyone played with the cam and what position seem to work with the ECU or is each ski a little different.

    Wilmer, you have the Rotax Racing Stock Class ECU. That is the only ECU that you are required to retard the cam timing on.

    Advancing the cam timing will more than likely deteriorate performance.

    I was thinking I was going to hear that. Is that even if the timing was retarded when I had the new motor instaled???? Just trying to squzeeeee out every inch of preformance out of the motor that I can get.

    If you are running the stock class ECU then you want your cam timing retarded all the way. Even if it was retarded to begin with.

    i retarded my cam timing all the way on my rxp with the stock ecu(8100rpm) it ran good and hed a hel of a hole shot
