need longer 4" tube, where to buy?

So I had a new motor put in and my mechanic said that I really needed a longer piece of tubing and the only option he had was to buy a 20 foot roll which was really expensive. I've taken a photo of the tube I'm referring to and wondering if anyone can better help me describe what this tube does and what it is holding together. Also, where would I go to find a longer piece? The best I can tell is that it is a 4" coupler

I'm not sure if the color of the coupler makes a difference to you but if blue would work you could save some money here: http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant...gory_Code=SLHS

They are good to deal with but for this particular case the 4" coupler they offer would be too short (only 3" long). The other option from them is a 2 ft section but that's $69.99 and would leave a lot of extra material left over in the end.

The stock size of that coupling for the stinger is 3". I ordered a few and matched up perfect
Also Verociousmotorsports on EBAY carries the same ones also.

I measured the one that it is on there now and its just about 2 1/2". Would going just 1/2" more do it? Or would it hurt to put 4 or 5 inches?
