    Question What type of fuel...?

    Hey guys!

Ive been loving my ultra 150, getting used to everything and the procedures for keeping her looking beautiful.
So I've just been wondering what type of fuel to use? I've been running 98? Is that the best for the ski of does it matter? I've done my research and not really sure..? I have been going through a tank ($80)in about 3 hrs is that about right?

    thanks in advance guys,
    Jess

A stock 150 requires 87 octane fuel. Unless compression has been increased, you don't need the higher octane. It's not needed and may even make it run worse.

If you get 3 hours from a tank of gas, you're not running it very hard.

Make sure to inspect/replace the oil lines. Also, consider doing the Triple Pisser mod. Adjusting/modifying the trim to give more UP trim makes the 'Ski a lot more fun to ride.

    Thanks Steve!
Ill get the lower fuel, that doesn't have ethanol in it of course
And I'll run it harder haha. I just get scared running anything at 7000 for so long.
Those mods are in my list ASAP! Soon as a I get a few days at work to do it properly because I don't want a half done job when I want to take it out as I'm not experienced at working on these things so I don't know how log everything takes
    Thanks so much, Jess

I run 95 RON before I did my mods. Shell dropped 95 at my station after a few years so I ended up running 98 (and obviously kept that at 98 after the mods). I wouldn't run anything less than 95 (I wouldn't run 91 RON E10) in an 150/STX-R).

You make the mistake that most people make. You're confusing octane with energy. Higher octane fuel burns slower, very high octane fuel will actually make a high speed engine run badly. Octane has no relation to BTU content, which would give you more power. Gasolines pretty much have the same BTU content, except that ethanol blends have a lower BTU content than straight gasoline.
