    carbon ring installation

    i am working on my 02 seadoo gtx 4 tec
    shaft and everything was removed when i bought it
    working from the back to front
    the bellow is clamped to black plastic around intake area
    my carbon ring is inside the bellows
    is it supposed to be clamped on forward part of bellows??
    then SS retainer, clip , bearing with rubber shield , engine
    is that the order of it?
    tried to get carbon seal out of bellows, its suck in there good

    Yes, that`s the right order. You can only replace the carbon ring with the driveshaft removed. Once the shaft is out, you can remove the bellows and carbon ring from the plastic fitting on the hull. You can then remove the carbon ring from the bellows and replace it. Refit it all in reverse order.

    You should replace the bellows and the carbon ring as the bellows begins to lose tension over time. It only costs about $20 for a new one from memory.
