I thought part of the GIO issue on previous Ultra's was due to lower engine/oil temps.................

The oil cooler is only useful in hot air and water temperature climates, you need 90c oil temp to correctly evaporate moisture in the sump due to blow by especially in humid conditions and being surrounded by water a watercraft engine is always in a humid enviroment, run the engine oil too cool and you will contaminate the oil even faster than what you do now, increase engine wear and increase fuel consumption.
