    780 Polaris Fuse keeps blowing

Hello I have a 1996 78o SLT Polaris, and all was well until I was winterizing it, and I noticed the MFD didnt work. I checked the fuse, it was blown, and replaced it (actually with a 1 amp I had on hand), and it blew as soon as the battery was connected. It starts and runs fine, but the fuse blows immediately when the battery is hooked up. I dont think any reverse polarity happened when the battery was initially put in, but I had a helper, and I cant be 100% sure. Would the ski start if the battery had been reversed? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Put a meter on the wire harness to the MFD. Red/Purple is positive, black is negative. See if there is a short somewhere in that circuit.

It is possible yes. Open the box and check to see if you have a short from the red/purple terminal to ground. My guess, if the ski runs fine is that there is either a problem with the MFD of the wiring going to it.

Do not use a larger fuse. you can damage the MFD if you do.
