    Powder Coating

Has anyone tried Powder Coating themselves? I was in harbor freight and they sell the powder coat and gun to do it your self.
I bought it, and Im gonna put it on my pipes.

I know a lot of people do it themselves. Go on Craigslist and find a cheap oven to bake the parts in. It is ill advised to put those chemicals into an oven you intend to cook in again.

Hit up YouTube or just google it and you'll find a ton of info on it.

Eastwood is a great source as well. They also sell curing lamps.

Yes, I have the Eastwood one and it works great for the smaller things that I can fit in a conventional kitchen oven. (the oven is dedicated to the garage only of course) You'll want some type of bead blasting cabinet as well. Also, big heavy cast pieces need to be out-gassed by baking them at 500-600* for an hour or so or else the impurities will "fish-eye" the finish. All in all very easy to learn and more durable than paint.

Totally agree with what's been said. I purchased the Craftsman gun off Amazon for $20 and have used it numerous time with awesome results on small parts.
