    Question 587 to 657 interchange

    Hello all

just wondering if I can replace the 587 in my 92 XP with a 657?

will it bolt right in and run? or do I have to change things like the stator and other electronics?

    Thanks in advance

    it will bolt right in.

should be able to re-use your 580 electrics, as yours is a white motor.

carbs, intake, RV, and jetting specs are different.

I have a set of 38i's carbs i will sell u, they will work on a 657 engine. You may have to re-jet. Are you using a regular 657 engine or a 657x? The 657x is almost as powerful as a 717

If I were going to make a swap I would just drop in a 717. The swap is the same. You get more power and they are a lot more plentiful.
