    3M Di-Noc carbon fiber vinyl

Today i wrapped a few pieces in this 3M Carbon Fiber Vinyl. Always liked the look of CF but real deal costs too much.
This stuff depending on size you can pick up for under a 100$ for 42"x42" piece like i used. I used this site:
    http://www.metrorestyling.com/3M-Sco...m1080-cf12.htm
    Here is what is required:
    1. Large clean area like a table.
    2. Heat gun/hair dryer.
    3. Squeegee from the place you buy the vinyl.
    4. Alcohol to clean original surface.
    5. 3m primer 94 1/2 Pint 8oz
    6. Lots of free time/patience, have to be ok with occasional blister from touching the heat gun.
    7. Must Install in ~70*F or it will tear/shatter/break if cooler. I was working in 60*F and pulled too hard and it just shattered (best way i can describe it) very interesting polymer.
if you are not a patient individual, this project is not for you as frustration will set in as soon as the vinyl touches any surface.
For more info, i used you tube for all kinds of applications and installation videos.

thanks guys, to be completely honest, its cheap enough to try yourselves, you just might like it i am new daddy now to a 5 month old daughter so jet-ski time is very short and hard to come by for me and i have a lot planned for this winter. If i had more time i would start a wrapping shop

Thanks Mike, it really does look good in the end. Well worth the money and time spent.

I will wrap a few more pieces in the coming weeks and post some more pics.

ALSO, this wrap can be clear coated for a "real" CF look:

Looks good Monty however Di-Noc is recommended for wrapping interior parts of cars. People who were wrapping hoods, roofs, etc. with the 3M Di-Noc carbon fiber wrap were having the wrap discolor and bubble after 1 yr. This is why 3M specifically came out with the 3M Carbon Fiber 1080 series wrap which is for exterior use and they warranty it for 3yrs.
