best way to mount a gps on a gp1300r

im looking at getting a gps on my ski for a proper speed reading to go with my tacho to help tuning but unsure how to mount it. Im looking at the garmin gpsmap 78s and was wondering what the best way was to mount it. Do i use a handlebar mount or does someone make a glovebox lid that the gps sits in like the seadoo?

I tuck mine in a ziplock bag and down the front of my vest. That way I am not tempted to be watching it and not where I am going. Ziplock bag so it floats, my Garmin 12 is waterproof, but does NOT float.

Hello Saro 13b, I recently mounted my GPS Trex on my GP1300r, it fit nicely on the dash centered right between the wind screen and the instrument panel. I went and purchased a cell phone holder @ walmart for $6.95, it holds the gps firmly and looks super... if you can explain to me how to upload a photo I would send one to show you.

I frequently lost GPS reception when I did that, but I have an older eTrex. I also found out mine didn't float when I opened my vest back at the dock and my GPS fell out and bounced into the water...oops forget I still had it down my vest. It was shallow water and I found it pretty easily. Whew!!

im going to install some pro taper mx bars on my ski in the next week or two and thought of getting the handlebar mount but its to in the way. Looking at a glovebox lid/gauge pod on greenhulk store that has a sunken in rectangle for the gps to sit in just waiting to hear if my gps will fit in there
