Overheating 2013 vxr
Hey all need HELP!!!
Took out the ski last night, Was only out for 15mins until the temp alarm beeped. Turn off the ski and sat there for 5 mins shitting my self...... turn it back on and went slowly back to shore to find a hand full of seaweed in the grate!!
After cleaning it out went back out again for 20mins until the temp alarm beeped AGAIN so did the same thing and went back to shore and clean out another hand full of seaweed..... It was time to pack it up!! Was flushing it for good 10-15mins to see if the temp alarm beeped will come on again but nothing happen.
Could the temp alarm beeped from the seaweed?
Is the ski overheating from something else?
What are people opinions please help!!

Most likely caused by the seaweed. My guess is that it clogged the strainer in the pump and removing it cured the problem. You could pull the strainer, but IMO the stock one is pretty restrictive so I doubt there is seaweed stuck in there.

Id pull the pump.....check the strainer and make sure all the lines are clear......sounds like there was a lot in there....

Find a cleaner place to ride.
I've seen some rental yamahas that had there life cut short because of weeds.

It was the seaweed. No water through pump, no cooling. Find a place that has water instead of seaweed to ride in

Connect a hose to it and run it. If it still goes off could be the sensor.

If the ski backfires while it's trying to start is it a bad thing or just like a car?
