How long will these engines actually last???
I have a 01 rx 962 (was 951) jumping waves every now and then just cruising and a 08 rxt 215 just crusing 30 mph or so.. They both have rotax obviously and maintenance is always done, i have heard they last from 1,000 hours to 100,000 haha. If someone could tell me that would be awesome.

2 stokes are generally pretty worn by 200hrs
215 4tec will last easy 500-1000 hours if your lucky enough with no supercharger failures.

01 RX-- how many hour on it before it was rebuilt? Why was it rebuilt, what parts were replaced, what brand were the parts, what were the specs followed, was the failure mode identified and corrected, was it done/rebuilt "correctly"? -- just because a person uses all the parts, finish product can vary greatly... The list goes on and on-- too many variables to tell you how long your 962 is going to last.

Highest I've seen on a 4 tec is 1400 hrs.
It was a non supercharged rental doo...
Hull was beat to crap but it was still running...

If you leave them alone and they stay stock they last for a long while. I have seen 600hours out of a 215 SCerD.
BUT if you mod them without the propper Gauges and just wing it and hope your copied set up is ok, But normally it is not.
At most they have ring issues at around 150hours. Too many people around here trust certain setups and believe me they are not correct and there motor shows it at around 150hours.
