I think some of the 1050s used a different head on the center cylinder

No. A 1050 will use identical cylinders on the same motor but there are different cylinders. There are different domes also. Some 1050's used a different center dome than the Mag and PTO use.

Man, these Polaris machines are challenging to figure out. I am trying piece together 2 1050 engines. Good crank and bad cylinder on one , and bad crank and cylinder in the other. So now I have a good crank (98 ) and three good mixed cylinders.

Two cylinders are from a 98 slh and one from the sl 97. The cylinders look the same but are some how different? So I guess I can't mix them.

Then there are different heads. All the heads from the 98 are the same (#...025 stamped) on them but the center cylinder is different on the 97 (#3022025 on the head and #3022050 on the mag and pto).

And then there are the carbs 40mm on the 97 no acel pump and only 2 jets. Other carbs have 38mm with pump and some with 40mm w/pump.

    confused yet? I am.

So here's what I have to work with. I have 2 good #3021019 cylinders from the 98 and one cylinder #3021009 from the 97. Will these work together or are they ported different? I intend on using the 40mm with acel pump if I can find one for a good price. The original is pretty much trashed. I have 3 good .025 heads. Will all this work together?

When all is said and said and done, I may give up on the 1050 and part it all out an try to recover a few bucks.

The 019 and 009 cylinders are ported differently. I'm sure some one on here would either sell you a 019 or trade you one for your 009. You can use the 025 domes on any cylinder.
