    Yamalube

I've been running Nulon Full Synthetic 2 stroke oil since I brought the ski (Ultra150). I have found my local boat shop stocks Yamalube 2w and is nearly half the price of the Nulon oil..

Does Yamalube 2w offer enough protection for a Ultra150? - they also stock Quicksilver Premium Plus 2-Cycle Outboard Oil

    Cheers

YamaLube 2W is garbage. They specify it for their 2-strokes that are equipped with catalytic converters. These engines are also equipped with Power Valves, and people that used YamaLube learned the hard way that it gunks up the valves and causes major engine damage.

There are GOOD oils out there, Klotz, Redline, Amsoil, Blue Marble, etc. Not familiar with Nulon.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I will have a look online and see if anyone imports those oils that you have listed.

I'm sure somebody does. Klotz is so expensive, I'd hate to see what it costs after shipping to New Zealand!

I think most any 2-stroke synthetic is OK. Some are made for pre-mix, so that's not what you want. The YamaLube would probably work fine in your application. It will leave deposits in the engine, but will probably lubricate it adequately. These things need top overhauls about every 200 hours anyway. The pistons will need to be replaced whether they're clean or gunked up. You may have less plug fouling with synthetic oil.

I've also had great luck with Maxima oils over the past 20 years and it's less expensive than Klotz and most others, my 2˘ worth
