    S3 Stuffing - Any others?

    S3 Hull Stuffing:

87mm nozzle off throttle at 83 mph
85mm nozzle towards the end of wot run (Approximately 80-81 MPH)
83mm nozzle approximately 3/4 thru the WOT run (Approximately 75+mph.)

Duke installed (2) 3/4" PRV's directly in the tunnel, (Very nice system) results:

1st test - No stuffing with the 87mm or 85 mm nozzle at WOT.
83mm nozzle stuffed, but at 85.4 mph.

2nd test - changed 3/4" valves to 1" valves and installed a transducer directly into the tunnel to measure pressure. Transducer and digital gauge display a steady pressure reading. No erratic number readings.

Ski still stuffed. Tunnel pressure was 40lbs at 80 mph and climbing. (Did not see pressure at 84-85 as the ski stuffed. Guessing 50+ lbs)

Installed 3rd PRV directly into the tunnel. Valves are hard mounted inside the hull... Valves machined in half probably flow better than closed inline valves but unless you mount the valves outside the hull (thinking about that option as well) its not an option.

Will attempt to test and post results this weekend. Hopefully 3rd valve will move the stuffing threshold up enough to allow 86+ MPH

Anyone elses S3 stuffing at these speeds?

Pics of the PRV & transducer set up......

Thanks.. 86+ possible in a little cold weather but stuffing the ski is limiting the top speed. Not stuffing bad like the earlier RXPX skis but still no fun at 85+..

    Merry Xmas!

    Merry Christmas to you.

Are you running the stock grate? I am thinking about trying the R&D grate to see if I can get a little more bolt on speed.
I have no plans of modding mine to go that fast anymore, building a conversion for that.

Good day! please tell me whether you can put the pressure relief valve as well as you in the tunnel on my GTX 4 tec 04 year . In this case, the tunnel will not become brittle? I just have not Pump Extension Kit (+50mm)

    .

Me to. First data I have ever collected regarding pump tunnel pressure. I'm sure there are others that have more experience in this area and can chime in. I'm going to connect the transducer to the Motec so I can log and track tunnel pressure at various speeds. Should be interesting...
