    FAQ

    What is needed?
For basic install, first I recommend you have an Air Fuel ratio gauge. You must know your AFRs in order to use CMD effectively. Then you only need to add either the cmd-6210 if you have Older Siemens ecu (with cable throttle) http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1961 or the cmd-6212 if you have the Bosch ( wire throttle) http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=2210 and no other items. Installation takes about 15 minutes and comes with a Zero base map. Using a computer connected via USB cable, you manually dial in the fuel curves. For me, I setup my ski riding with a laptop and changing settings on the fly. It took approx 45 mins of riding and tuning to get first map dialed in.

What is Auto-Tune and what parts are needed ?
Auto-tune is already on the CMD unit , but to enable it you need a WB2 kit http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1962 and Can Cable http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1966 to connect the CMD to the WB2. The WB2 comes with an oxygen sensor that reads Air/fuel ratio and relays this information to your CMD and AFR gauge or LCD-200 Display You will setup a target AFR map in the CMD software and while you are riding the ski, your CMD will automatically tune to your desired optimum settings. ( very slick setup to have a ski running rough, add this and watch the ski automatically smooth out and run perfect )

Can I use my current AFR gauge setup with CMD?
No , you need to use the WB2 which comes with 02 sensor. I had an innovate AFR gauge before installing the WB2 and sold it putting $$ towards wb2 purchase. If you need a replacement O2 sensor use this one http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1971 which is specifically calibrated to the setup.

Can you adjust timing or raise RPM limiter with the CMD?
Not at this time. Currently the CMD unit do not have ability to adjust timing or raise limiter. It is in the works now and will be an add on module that you can plug into your CMD module at a later time. The CMD already has a port available and dedicated for this addition so you won't need to replace it when module is available.

My ECU has been reflashed, will CMD work with it?
Yes, the CMD Marine works with Stock ECU and reflashed ECUs ( such as V-tech, Riva , Les Cooke etc) It is easily interchangable from ski to ski in a few minutes and not locked into a particular VIN.

    What is your setup?
I've got the CMD WB2 Can Cable and LCD-200 , also tapped into the temperature gauge harness to view that in real time and log temperature data ( PM if you are going to do this and I'll send you the necessary firmware) With this setup the Auto-tune adjusts the engine constantly on the fly. If I switch from my xcharger to rude2, it will automatically compensate the fuel curves. I have run many different combinations on my setup including stock, riva and lescook ecus and injectors including 42, 60, 80 and 100lb.

Setup preferences, I do not run the accel pump or startup fuel feature.
Important as this is one of most asked questions....If you are going to tap in and monitor engine temp or any other 0-5v reference, you will need to pm me or dynojetresearch for the firmware needed to enable the port on cmd.

Beerdart made an easily interchangeable harness to be able to use one setup on 3-4 different skis

Map Files , screen shots, videos

You can download a zero map for the CMDM-6210 here: Zero Map

Mike is working on it so we all can add zip files of maps to the thread, but until then if you need a starter map for your setup, drop me a PM with your email address and I'll send one out to you.

LCD-200 on my handlebars to view all the information with user definable gauges such as RPM, AFR , Engine Temp, TPS %, Boost pressure, and injector duty cycle with athena handlebar mount http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=2108

The LCD-200 gives you logging capability with sd card and ability to richen up or lean out engine on the fly. ( say that guy is just barely pulling away from you.... change afrs from 11.5 to 12 and pick up a few hundred rpms... lol not saying you should, but you can ) You can also switch between 2 different maps on the fly if you're running a dry nitrous system and using this controller to provide additional fuel when spraying.

The lcd-200 fits in like a glove Ive changed the gauges on LCD to WHITE back with black needle and numbers to make it easier to read in bright sunlight. Will post pics of that next time out on ski. The gauges are completely user definable

Sure thing. I PM'd you my number, give me a call if you have any questions while installing. I've done several installs including one yesterday on TedCfritz gprxp conversion ski. DAMN it was cold riding 87mph yesterday 39 degrees and windy while tuning the ski in with no gloves ( so I could work the laptop LOL )
Which setup did you go with?
