    Supercharger shaft Upgrade

    http://www.rivaracing.com/instructio...0_uk_6s5_2.pdf

    Point 17....
why would the instructions tell you to remove the internal snap ring that holds the bearing in place?
just doesn't make any sense to me?? anyone shed some light on this for me?

Leendert, I think those are instructions for the gen-2 shaft. I just checked the instructions I had for the gen-1(the one you have) & it does NOT say to discard that snap-ring. They must've changed the design for the gen-2.

    Thanks that makes sense now.
Are there any other differences in the instructions that might be important?

That was it. I think the only other difference besides the 1-piece bearing was the gen-2 shaft was a single piece instead of having the pressed on gear.

I guess there is always a dumb ass that will damage the impossible:
I broke what i think R&D calls the thrust bearing assembly and the oem exducer.
It's a washer with what looks like 2 little piston rings on it.
    I guess I have to buy the R&D 612-25028.

This ever happen to anyone else??

I'm about to install the R&D kit in mine. I'll be breaking down my SC tonight to send it off for them to do the required machining. I'll have to look over the instructions, but if I don't need to reuse that part after installing R&D's kit you can have mine.

Thanks Mark I appreciate that very much.
I'm checking with Ron John at the moment he might have one for me from his old one.
