Great Start To A New Year

I towed my jet ski to Virginia Beach this new years day and dropped at Owls Creek Creek Boat Ramp.
Departed Rudee Inlet as it was getting light and headed about two miles out and then trolled North.
Got into a lot of diving gannets and heavy bait and within 10 minutes had my first fish on. A nice 40 incher!
I caught him on a 28 oz mojo that had a tomic trailing it on a three way swivel. I was in 50 feet of water.
Thought it was going to be the beginning of a lot of fish but it was not so.
I trolled all morning around Cape Henry, there was a lot of bait and a Humpback whale that surfaced close by.
Saw a couple fellow "Jet Anglers" Dave and Mark and several other boats some catching fish but most not.
    Came back in by noon.
I did not take a lot pictures today, had a light rain most of the morning but other wise decent conditions.

    Happy New Year!
