2008 FX HO fake hours ?

    Hi Guys,

I just picked-up a used jetski, the guy was weird and he looked very shady, but i just went with it because the ski is in really good condition and very low hours and paperwork showed that he was the original owner but just to be sure, how hard is to fake/reset hours on a 2008 fx machine ? based on the condition of the ski i would say the hours are original.

take it to dealer and let them hook their computer to the ECU and read the hours if you feel uncomfortable...
How many hours does it show now?

I don't know..If someone is hiding something like this, then you can never know the history of other issues...What I am saying if he finds out the hours are fake, then who knows what else....

Why do you get the feeling the guy is shady if you don't mind me asking?

@30 hours it ought to look new if it's taken care of. Shady people normally don't take care of their stuff IMO so if it looks good maybe you have the wrong impression.

Because everything else was rundown, the house the garage, and I personally would fix my teeth before I spend money on a jetski . I inspected the ski again and it looks really clean inside as well, the only thing i noticed is some clamps have started to rust a bit not sure if that's normal on yamaha skis.

No, that is not normal on Yamaha's . . . especially at 30 hours. If you don't feel right about the transaction, in any way, you should walk away. JB
