how to make a cheap thru hull exhaust

ok so ive re-built my rxp engine, i wanted a thru hull, but didnt want to shed out £250+GBP (skint from cost of rebuild)

the photos will speak for themselves,

this cost me £22 GBP to do. (i had a 70mm hole saw)

    • i cut the large rubber exhaust hose up, keeping each end, (45deg from waterbox, and 90deg into sound resonator)
    • i blanked off std exhaust outlet hole, and fitted the oem exhaust tip into the same position as riva system (used template) pointing up towards pump tunnel, sealed in place.
    • i then fitted the cut up 90 hose to the ehaust tip facing forward
    • i bought 1x 2.5" stainless 90 pipe and 1x 2.5" 45 stainless pipe from ebay (£22)
    • i just had them welded at work off set by 30mm -no cutts (see photo) and beaded the ends.
fits a treat. i did have to cut out some of the polystyrene (easy to pull out) to make it work.

i know this prob isnt the perfect exhaust system, but i thought it was worth a poke.

i wouldnt be trusting the rubber 90 deg you have in there, hot exhaust gases are pouring right into it, which is why you never see this on factory exhausts.... been there done this, sinky sinky

the rubber 90 is a piece of the OEM cut up. surely no difference?

    Nice, worked out good.
So are you keeping the opas fins?
If so how are you keeping them in place and not moving?

If you put the extra water in before that 90 hose, it should keep that hose cool and make it quiet
