    Corrosion inside my 5hr SC?

I can hear the fins just barely scraping it. Looks like the Riva POFS(same as POS but you can guess what the F is) was inhaling some salt on hard rides in the chop. Should I take it apart and sand it down?

Are you running rear air? If so I recommend that you spray some Wd-40 or some type of lube after riding in salt. with the ski running after each salt water ride.

not rear air but there were Frogskins pretty much above the riva intake. I have a custom intake now. I'm just wondering if I should sand that crap smooth.

BTW I spray CRC 656 all over the place and CRC fog after each ride, just not in the SC

+1 on the W/D-40 down the S/C intake, I have rear air and the aluminum blades start to crust up pretty quick riding in salt water,

I had the same issue with using Frogzskin, I am guessing it doesn't do much to keep salt out at all, since it was made for snow mobiles. I had my ski at my local shop for the carbon ring leaking and they yelled at me for using the frogzskin and took my SC apart and cleaned it at my expense. They then installed a KnN flame arrestor instead..I loved my other intake but guess its not worth ruining my SC for it.

Ummm what shop is this? What did you have as a filter before?

Its all about proper maintenance. Pull it off and clean it after salt rides.. Just imagine what we get with our rear airs..

Remove SC and as long ur front seal is right ....

Fill the chamber with hot /warm soapy water and the salt will dissolve and then blow out dry ...

U will need to keep and eye on it and give it a coat WD etc
