    What is Ribbon Delete?

    I am a newbie to skis Kinda I had a 95 xps back in the 90's but just recently got a 12 VXR and I see a few of you guys have done a ribbon delete what is this?

    Its a small restricitve metal coil to help the airbox from melting if the ski backfires I believe. Remove throttle body and start smashing/hacking away, was an hour job on my vx. Use a shop vac or remove manifold to reduce risk of swarf entering engine.

    It's the ribbon your take off when you buy it from the dealers
    Sorta the same as a birthday present...

    Dosent sound worth the trouble and wouldnt the billet part from riva that replaces the waffle shaped screen do the same thing without the beating and cutting?

    My vx was different, no sleeve was needed. Yes the riva sleeve works fine.
