I have a 250 X that had catastrophic engine failure. The ski wasn't cheap to begin with. To make it run and be reliable is going to cost me a good amount. I know this is blasphemy but is it possible without a major build to maybe fit another Kawasaki engine? 250 Hp is unbelievable and there aren't too many things that feel as hood as whacking the throttle of a big power ski. But I'd rather give up 100 hp and make it out on the water this season. My guess would be its not possible but I wanted to ask because I'm amazed how much some guys here know about skis.

Sure you could put a 15f or 12 f motor in it if you chbage the harness Ecu and few other things but those motors are not cheap ether so no real benefit or cost savings. What failed on your motor. .

Part it out and buy another, that is what I did and saved money doing it. I found one that was a left over for 8000 and parted mine out for around 3000 so for 5000 I have a new 15f. I know it isn't the same cost as yours but you might have more expensive parts to sell.
