How to Remove the handlebar/grip setup on a gtr215 steering setup??

looking to add a set of custom bars and grips on my gtr215. possibly some billet aluminum throttle and IBR handles if the stock bars have to stay. anyone have experience with this? the steering assembly seems like a pain in the ass to remove. so i figured before i broke ALL of the plastic clips, i would ask. yes it has the ibr and the VTS. thanks !

Where do you live? You can do it without removing the clips. If local I'd be willing to give you a hand

Ecpchris that would be awesome. I'm up in Morris county in Randolph. Do you know of anyone running aftermarket bars? Wouldn't want to take everything off just to find out I can switch the setup. Is it a standard on-top clamp plate with 4 screws?

Actually just realized you won't be able to just replace the stock bars. They are plastic coated and part of the whole steering assembly. You would have to replace the whole steering assembly with an aftermarket unit or possibly an X setup. Click image for larger version.

You can however swap the throttle and brake levers for something a little different. Riva has nice ones

Thanks for the info!! Kind of a bummer about the bars glad I wasn't breaking unnecessary clips for no reason. Actually ordered the riva throttle and Ibr levers. How do I get that plastic piece off to swap them out?
