to keep things simple, can you please tell me what colour wires are for the knock sensor? is it tan/orange and tan/black? as this one goes to head temp sensor...
the plug into the knock sensor (long cable under inlet manifold) is yellow/green white/blue i think....
ski ran fine, just kept getting code at hard throttle
(2005 rxp ski)

Tan/gray and Black/Tan is temp. Knock is Tan/blue and Tan/black. If its coding after a run you may be knocking.

when you say knock du mean detonate? is so would this be a mechanical fault?
is seems to come up as check engine towards high rev range.
it had fresh fuel in it (95 oct)
the engine seemed to run real smooth
could it not be a duf sensor? if i check the wires should i get 5 Mohms? (havent checked yet)

can you tell me what the resistance the knock sensor should read.
is it 5 Mohms? or 1710 - 1890 ohms???

Was it not only on the 03 and 04 engines than needed a pig tail if the software was updated?
Have you not just had your engine to bits??
Could be a duff sensor, got disturbed when removing from the block or over tightened when putting it back, poor connection where it joins the loom. Check the resistance, if you need a doner one to try on the ski I may be able to help as my ski is in a thousand bits right now. Only a loan one tho, I would need it back.

just to clarify... ive just rev'd the engine up in the garage quickly, rev'd it up to 6k and no code thrown.
just seems to happen when i give it beans in the water
