Go Pro Mount Broken
Hey fellow GreenHulkers,
A few weeks ago i went for holiday, i took the SHO with me. i had 3 great days out on the water with my go pro and i got the wifi bacpac as a Xmas gift.. cut a long story short on the 4th day the weather got really choppy and i was jumping 3 metre waves. from when i first took off the go pro was fine in the middle of the storm i look back at where the go pro was and it was gone the mount broke at the base and because i had the wifi pac on it didnt have a floaty on the back i did go back trying to find it getting thrown around every which way but no luck it sunk .. so now i sent an email to go pro stating this.. but in a much more professional manner. and they said it'll take 2 days to reply. i hope they a kind enough to give me the new hero 3.. i will upload some photos when i get home

Thats why a lot of guys tether their cameras, so even if the mount lets go, they don't lose the camera. In fact they sell a tether kit for the go pro 3s. I never go without the floaty for mine. 300 bucks is a lot of money to leave at the bottom of a lake or ocean.

Why do you think they should give you a new camera?

because their mount broke.. and wasnt able to put a floaty on it because the wifi bac pac didnt come with it.. plus they give out a free go pro everyday..

I've bought a few skis that had broken go pro mounts.
I think there mounts are prone to breaking.
Sorry about your expensive loss....

I broke a mount on my GoPro HD2 and the replaced the mount no questions asked. The camera had the floaty on it though, so I didnt loose the camera. Their customer service is A+ from what I have expierenced.
