Post Ultra 300x any know problems?

Hello everyone new here from Australia, looking at buying a Kawi 300x was reading a thread about a guy who hasn't had much luck with them and others wouldn't want anything else. Are there any know problems? Also what colours are available for the 2013 model?

    Pros
awesome un challanged rough water speed and stability in stock and slightly nodded
MOST arm stretching you can have on a STOCK ski
    BIGGEST STORAGE
Awesome power to tow skiers and tubs etc

    Cons
Will use more fuel when ridden hard or towing toys ( its 300hp they need feeding)
Doesn't have fangdangled breaks etc that will only break
certain post ride care steps should be adhered to, as per any saltwater toy
If incorrect servicing or maintanence steps are ignored you can encounter unwanted service costs.
Slightly heavier than other 3 sweaters, hence not as good for wave free styling ( but yes you still can play with practice)
large cheap speed gain over bypass module are not realistc.

these are just thing in short form

Not the most cost effictive ski if your dad is after a family entertainer
Get a yamaha ho cruiser or kawi ultra lx .....

    waz
Dad isn't after a family ski, we have 2 yamaha 1200 a 2 and 3 seater. Looking to update the 3 seater and considering me and dad both go out to the heads to catch a few nice swirls i would think the 300x would be perfect?

Thanks for the replies and the info. Really helps in making a decision!

Just do your home work on the maintaining of the beast.
It does require more maintaining than other skis and if you don't do the upkeep its going to bite you in the wallet.

From a "ride" perspective if you plan to really push the envelope in offshore riding or plan to race offshore, the 300 has a decided advantage here. At speeds less than this, this advantage begins to disappear. Then other Skis advantages start to come forward.

The 300 likes to be taken care of with a fine tooth comb; Diligence to maintenance is a must. There are alot of good Skis out there right now. I think it is best to pick the one that best serves your needs. JB

Best thing to do Levendi is try find someone or a dealer with a demo and organise a ride. Take as many different skis for a ride and compare. Whats perfect for someone else might not be for you. What part of Australia are you from?

From Sydney, i think i might have to do just that or atleast go to a dealer that has the 300 and see it in person then go see a seadoo dealer and make my decision that way. Leaning towards the 300x though, the shear power is awesome.
