Pump modification to the veins - Anyone tried it?

Looking at my pump, the front edge, where the water hit's the vein's - they are like wedges, not nicely contoured and some have damage.

Has anyone tried to knife edge these and also smooth out the dimples on the body of the vein's?

If so what was the results??

I don't really feel like spending $2500+ on a pump.....

Quite a few guys have "Knifed" the edges and have seen Zero gains from this.Clean your damaged area up and the rest of it is waisted time...Also "knifing" the edge IMO is not what you want to do..IMO you want to round the front and knife the rear edge if you plan on doing anything BUT again you will see no gains if any by doing this.....

You won't get huge gains for the time spent but you can round the leading edge and knife edge the trailing edge of the veins (think airplane wing).

+1 on rounding the leading edge and knife edging the trailing edge. In the early days we tried everything. Smoothing the inside of the pump, knife edging the leading edge- changing length of the veins. About the only noticable thing from knife edging the leading edge is any small rock or debri that goes though the pump will nick it up now- no strength left on a knife edged vein.
