So no I need any advice help tips etc on how to service my baby. Not going to claim to be the best mechanic but I reckon I know enough for this not to be a challenge. I will also be asking in the Honda section same as I need to service that one also.so over to you and I look for we'd to the replies.

Wow what a rip off!! That stuff makes me mad... charging 350+ for an oil filter and oil. I dont have a VX but on my FZR it is a matter of using an oil extractor to pull the oil, changing the filter (screw on and off with hands), and finally adding the new oil.

What year is your VX? If it is the MR-1 engine than just follow the instructions above... I have a MR-1 FX HO.

It's a 2008. They tried saying how well we grease lots of parts and check it all over. It's really complicated you know. They were not impressed when I said my 5.8 V8 Toyota cost less than that to service. Not the biggest fan of home mechanics but not going to be robbed by that lot.

Hey even what I thought was way to much for an oil change on my Mercedes ML320 @ $125.00 does not even come close to the travasity your ski dealer is serving up to you ! Stop the insanity .... DIY for such things as a service call that is mainly doing an oil change .... is reallly not all that difficult. And as you now realize there is always going to be help right here on GH
