    Riva Dampener Failure

    Guys

Recently when riding my 2012 sho i lost boost, so dropped off to dealer thinking the clutch had rolled over. However check the washers out on the Riva dampener as they broke away one got caught in the magneto / flywheel.

Has anyone seen a dampener fail due to washers ? the teeth are perfect and its only done 35 hours now.

Have contacted Riva awaiting there response.

I notice you have 2012 sho. Is this a early 2012 model. You do know that they changed the sprage clutch and idler gear teeth # NUMBERS in mid 2012. The old dampner gear will not work on the mid 2012-2013. Just thought you might need to know this info.Oldman

Wait till you've done more than 50 hours on your clutch with the E1 wheel Robbie
They seem to blow at about 40 hours
I am at over 60 hours on my clutch and dampner with ET low boost
+ a few hours with an ET high boost

Riva have got back to me basically to acknowledge my email, thing is two washers stayed at the bottom of the engine. However one washer as you can see by the pics had damaged the stator & flywheel. From experience you cant remove the flywheel easily. Dealer was talking about sending it away or its a new crank, not sure yet. Going to be an expensive fix due to that half a washer doing the damage.

No doubt every one has seen the new 2013 ligtened gear and new clutch Yamaha have released. Thats the way I will be going.
