    vxr vs gp1300r

    Hi all

For the last week me and my cousin have been arguing about Yamaha vxr 2011-2012 and Yamaha gp1300r 2008 witch one is better ski!!! He has owned gp1200 and gp1300r. He wants to get back into PWC and he looking to get gp1300r and they are going for Secord hand in Australia for $9000.

Being in the game around a year now and love reading forums on the Greenhulk have learnt a lot. He went on my ski the other week (vxr 2013) then turns around and says oh its nothing special…… thinks the gp1300r is the same speed and handling!!!! Then there me thinking WHAT THE…. Never been on gp1300r but thinking that vxr would be faster and better ski.

Putting this out there to see if anyone can help and give us your opinion because I don’t know much about gp1300r and im talking up how good my ski it lol.

Considering the cost of go-juice in your country, the savings on fuel and oil alone would be a deciding factor for me. Not to mention the other benefits of that massive 4 stroke power plant in the VXR.

Honestly you can't go wrong either way IMO. Both should be a blast!

Im not an expert but from what ive seen in Cayman the Vxr gets better fuel mileage but the 13r seems to be faster although i havent ran them stock for stock so its difficult to say.

Im no pro on the VXR but it really would depend on what performance you mean... acceleration? Top speed? Jumping? Handling? So many factors... My buddy use to kick my ass on his old Kawasaki 1100 when I was on my 1300 because the water was so rough but I would kill him on mild to smooth. So what ski was faster?? It all depended on the day

I get the point your making and same thing happens here too its all about the right setup, a stock Vxr does like 67 and my 06stage 1 does 68 and a guy i know with a modded Vxr does like 72 while my 05stage2 with jims plate will do 73 (were talking top speed smooth water) but when you talking chop,cc,offshore etc its a different story and comes down to setup i agree.
