    R&D transom plate void filling

Ok, let me start off by saying that this is not a bitch session about services from R&D. This is to inform anyone of exactly what they will be getting when purchasing the modification to a transom plate. I just received my transom plate back from them today and was a little surprised at how little they did for the money spent. I guess I was expecting all voids to be filled but only the long ones at the top were done. In hindsite I would have just filled them myself with fiberglass resin a layer at a time. Below are the pics of before and after. IMO I should have spent the money in a better way. Although this is a good service for someone that may not be much of a diy'r. They did have fast turn around.

I think the part that the fill is where people were experiencing the silicone to blow out.

What is this mod supposed to do? I'm assuming you were expecting the bottom large parts to be filled in? Correct?

Re: R&D transom plate void filling

Yes I was expecting for all voids to be filled. I have though the filler kit that is used for my Riva intake grate that fills the large voids at the bottom. This is supposed to help with cavitation by not allowing any air to become trapped in the voids and then getting sucked into the pump. Also there are a few more voids that I will be filling before putting back on. And yes I do feel like I should have used the money somewhere else.
