    GPS Speedo

A friend of mine setup a GPS module to run the speedo on my 2010 FZS
works a treat it wires to the original speedo wheel wires , where it gets power earth and sends the signal back to the dash
i fitted it to the side of the hull under the rear seat
also tested it with the TBM tank installed and it still gets great signal and didn't lag or drop out durring my on water testing
will be a bit weird looking at a working speedo as i have had the speedo not working for over 100 hours
    + it will be accurate
pitty it doesn't have a digital speedo or it would be even better

    Re: GPS Speedo

Would be interested in details of this. I have GPS Speedo on my wakeboard boat and is great to not have to use a hand held unit.

Here is a pic of the unit in its waterproof case during testing
I cut the wires from my speedo wheel
But I'm sure you could also buy the correct plug and just plug it in leaving everything else intact
It is not an off the shelf unit yet
He needed to add parts to an off the shelf module to get the pulse count high enough
But I believe they will be adding the parts and it will be available soon
Will let know when it's available and from where

    GPS Speedo

Also the initial setup is done by plugging in a trigger module that gives a 60 kph signal
Then you wind a screw on an adjustable pot till the skis speedo reads 60 kph
    Very easy
We did need to start the ski during that part of the setup as the voltage was a bit low causing the speedo needle to fluctuate

These work well too. Can be had for about $140.

That would be pretty sweet with a digital speedo.
