    PTO won't go back on

    I've been at it for over an hour. It's sucks it back on but won't go the last 1/4 inch. From what I can see it looks like the actual shaft is catching on something?

    Either the bendix dropped or the oil pump drive.

    Oil pump gear inside the motor is not lined up to pto housing.

    actually, my rag that was in the timing chain hole snaked it's way out enough to catch on the cover. Don't know how since it was fine when I slipped the cover on. WTF is the bendix?
